Whenever there’s a spin-off series, fans are always looking for easter eggs or cameos from the original that the show. With HBO Max’s Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin being just that for the original Pretty Little Liars, we’ve been keeping our eyes wide open all season!

The OG series, developed by I. Marlene King ran for seven seasons on Freeform, from 2010 to 2017. Before Original Sin, there were two other spin-offs created by King with some of the same characters – Ravenswood and Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. However both were cancelled after one season.

Though Original Sin exists in the same universe and is only miles away from Rosewood, the creative team behind it is completely different. Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa takes on those duties for Original Sin, and we have a whole new set of little liars.

But still, that doesn’t mean some surprise appearances can’t happen. With the finale now streaming, were there any?

* Spoilers below from episodes 4 to 10 (finale)

Unfortunately, we haven’t had any physical cameos from the original PLL cast. However, there’s been some easter eggs and name drops in Original Sin!

Of course there’s the obvious ones like the same theme song, the use of twins, and “A” being the assailant. But we’ve listed a few below that you may not have noticed!

You have to be looking very closely, but eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted Caleb’s name on a prescription. In episode 4, Noa finds a pill bottle of oxycodone in her mom’s purse. Marjorie stole them from work, and they are for someone else. That other person is Caleb Rivers, aka Hanna’s beau!

Episode 6 as a whole was the ultimate easter egg, as Imogen and Tabby head to Rosewood for their continued search for answers about Angela Waters and her connection to the group’s moms.

First is the Radley Hotel, which used to be the Radley Sanitarium – a spot PLL fans are more than familiar with. Eddie Lamb, who is an employee at the hotel, also used to work at the sanitarium. The character was introduced in the original PLL series, befriending both Mona and Spencer, but the actor in Original Sin is different.

During their stay in Rosewood, Tabby goes out for a night in town and pays a visit to Ezra’s Books. I think we all know which Ezra that’s referring to!

In episode 7, there’s a Millwood town carnival where the local high school football guys get into a verbal fight with their competitors, the Rosewood team. There weren’t any familiar faces from Rosewood, but it was still a small easter egg to appreciate.

In the final moments of the finale, Imogen reveals that she will be giving her baby girl up for adoption. As she explains to Tabby, the couple seems “pretty perfect.” They two writers have been wanting to have a baby for a while, and one of them owns a bookshop. And what are their names? you guessed it, Aria and Ezra!

Does this mean this information is canon? Maybe not 100% since the creative team and even the network/streamer are different. But it’s still fun to think that this is where Aria and Ezra end up.

The full season of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin is now streaming on HBO Max.
